Youth Talent Scouts Required

Thursday, May 17, 2018 - 12:11 PM

Do you have what it takes to scout the next generation of Demons?

The Perth Talent Program requires three to four people with football experience or knowledge to view one or two games of Youth Football on Sundays.

What is required?

Youth Talent Scouts watch local youth matches, scouting for talented players who display attributes to be successful in the WAFL Colts competition in the coming three - four seasons. Typically match start times vary from 9am-1:00pm and are of a 2-hour duration.

Youth games are played in and around the Perth Football District, involving the 12 Junior Clubs across the Year 8, 9 and 10 competitions. Areas include:

  • Belmont
  • Gosnells
  • Huntingdale
  • Kenwick
  • Lynwood-Ferndale
  • Maddington
  • Manning
  • Queens Park
  • Redcliffe
  • South Perth
  • Thornlie
  • Victoria Park

How does it work?

Youth Talent Scouts are required to watch local youth matches and report on talented players who display attributes to be successful in the WAFL Colts competition in the coming three - four seasons. This information is then lodged centrally and compiled into a Player Talent ID Report.

We use this information to select players for the Perth Talent Squads that will compete in the WAFL Talent Carnivals in the Term 3 School Holiday.

Youth Talent Scouts will receive a small honourarium for each match viewed and reported upon.
