Demons secure talented duo

Former Claremont and East Fremantle midfielder Corey Yeo has signed a two-year deal with the Demons, joining Matthew Taylor who returns to Lathlain after a year at North Melbourne.

Yeo, 26, finished top 10 in the 2015 Sandover Medal before missing the entire 2016 season with a ruptured ACL.

The brother of All Australian Eagle Elliot Yeo spent 2017 in Victoria playing for Williamstown and returns to WA hoping to recapture his 2015 form.

Perth Football Operations Manager Dale Ballantyne says Yeo, who's played 54 games of senior WAFL football, will be a welcome addition to our midfield group.

"Corey's experience, football knowledge and leadership qualities will enhance our emerging playing list and provide valuable guidance as our younger players continue to develop," Ballantyne says.

"As a strongly built midfielder, Corey will enable us to compete the more mature midfield outfits in the WAFL."

Taylor was taken by North Melbourne in the 2016 Rookie Draft after a strong 2016 season with the Demons where he played 19 senior games as a 19-year-old.

The 20-year-old defender returns to Perth with ambitions to get re-drafted.

Ballantyne says Taylor will be a handy acquisition to the Demons' half back line.

"Matt's foot skills, pace and running ability will help us set up play from half back and lead to more scoring opportunities," Ballantyne says.

"Despite interest from several other WAFL clubs, Matt's return to the Demons speaks highly of his character and loyalty.

"It also indicates he believes the Club is heading in the right direction to achieve sustained on and off field success."
