PREVIEW: Round 6 v East Perth

Tuesday, April 18, 2017 - 11:59 AM

Perth return to Leederville Oval for the second time this season on Saturday to take on a winless East Perth outfit.

After a roud four win over East Fremantle before last weekend's bye, the Demons will be refreshed and looking to notch up their second win in as many games.

East Perth, winless after five games, have endured a tough start to 2017 and are coming off a 91-point loss to co-tennants Subiaco at the weekend.

Michael Sinclair (achillies) and Brant Colledge (hamstring) are both expected to return this week after stints on the sidelines.

Both will undergo fitness tests at training on Thursday evening.

Other potential round six inclusions include Taran Etto, Marshall Jones and Blake Johnson, who have all been performing strongly at Development level.

Teams will be announced Friday morning from 10am on the Club's website.

Senior Coach Earl Spalding says the group have been moving in a positive direction and need to continue moving forward.

"It's been pretty good so far with the young guys coming into the team," Spalding says.

"They've shown steady improvement and we just need to keep showing improvement over the coming weeks and hopefully we get some more results."

Spalding says ball movement and defensive structures will continue to be the focus going forward.

"We'll keep working on our ball movement and our defence," Spalding says.

"We've just got to keep working hard at our defence behind the ball and that'll hold up against most sides.

"Our ball movement has been pretty good most of the year but we've got to keep working at it and keep getting those connections that we saw a few of against East Fremantle."

Bounce down is back at the traditional Saturday afternoon time of 2.15pm, with Development commencing at 11.30am and Colts 9am.
