PREVIEW: Round 3 vs Claremont

Thursday, March 30, 2017 - 9:26 AM

The Demons this week return to the newly redeveloped Lathlain Park to host their first 2017 home game against a rejuvinated Tigers outfit.

To celebrate the brand new oval, it's 2 for 1 Day at Lathlain Park- all tickets permit entry for two and all Perth members are encouraged to bring a friend for free!

Saturday afternoon's clash also marks captain Clint Jones' 300th game of senior football READ MORE.

After promising performances in the opening two rounds with no premiership points to show for it, can the Demons notch up their first win of the home and away season in front of their passionate and loyal supporters?

The two sides met twice in 2016, with Perth taking the honours on both occasions.
Round 3 at Lathlain Park: Perth 14.11 (95) defeated Claremont 12.6 (78)
Round 15 at the Show Grounds: Perth 10.16 (74) defeated Claremont 11.6 (72)

However Claremont have recruited strongly over the summer and pose a new threat to the up and coming Demons, adding Tom Lee (St Kilda), Nick Winmar, Jessie Laurie, Anthony Morabito (Fremantle) and Charles Le Fanu (Subiaco).

The Tigers are coming off a round two bye, after a convincing 62 point first up win over East Fremantle.

They'll be without Le Fanu and midfielder Jared Hardisty who are both sidelined with injuries, while forward Jack Richardson is in doubt.

Perth have some injury concerns of their own, with Brant Colledge sustaining a hamstring injury in last Saturday's 23 point loss to Subiaco.

Michael Sinclair (achillies) and Anton Scotney (ribs) will both need to prove their fitness on Thursday evening.

Potential round three inclusions include Kurtis Chester, Brennan Stack and Brad McPhail who have all put their hand up with strong performances in the Development.

The game will be broadcast live on Channel 7 Mate from 1:30pm.

All games have been pulled forward 35 minutes (League 1:40pm, Development 10:55am, Colts 8:25am).
