Tackling Suicide Celebrity & Community Match
Event Description:
Lathlain Park is hosting the inaugural Tackling Suicide Celebrity & Community Charity Match on Saturday 24th February.
Local personalities and community members will test their skills and fitness in a twilight match to raise awareness around suicide.
Entry is a gold coin donation for under 16s and $10 for adults.
All proceeds go to funding Mental Health Education programs for schools and sporting clubs in the Perth community provided by Outside the Locker Room and Lifeline WA.
Don’t worry, there will be some current talent on display as the Perth Demons battle Peel Thunder in the Youthfocus curtain raiser from 3:30pm.
Bounce down of the Celebrity & Community match is 5:30pm.
Some of the celebrities putting on the boots include Troy Cook, Peter Bell, Drew Petrie, Luke McPharlin, Andrew Embley, Daniel Kerr, Jake Edwards, David Wirrpanda, Dale Kickett, Paul Haselby, Sam Butler, Shaun McManus, Ashleigh Nelson (Hockeyroo), Simon Orchard (ex Kookaburra), Paddy Sweeney (Channel 9 News), Nadia Mitsopoulos (ABC Radio), Byron Schammer, Craig Treleven, Scott Thornton, Andrew Siegert and many more. Wildcat champions Greg Hire and Damian Martin will be in attendance to share their insights with the players. Game to be commentated by ABC Radio's Clint Wheeldon.
Gates open at 2:30pm. There will be bar facilities, food tents, music and kids activities all afternoon and evening so round up the family, pack your picnic rug, bring your footy and be a part of what promises to be a special day on WA's sporting calendar.
